Mission Statement
The Baldwin-Wallace College Exploration/Study Abroad Center is part of a larger effort to expand students' learning context by linking the curriculum to the world beyond the classroom. While traveling throughout the world, students earn B-W credit for courses, independent study projects, and/or field experiences.
Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant is a member of the Student Affairs staff at Baldwin-Wallace College and will report to the Director of Explorations/Study Abroad. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for programming, advising and marketing study away opportunities. Other responsibilities include:
- Become knowledgeable about Explorations programs.
- Assist with creative marketing campaign (Freshman Orientation presentations, coordinate Study Abroad Fair, create flyers and brochures, etc.).
- Actively promote international education to the campus community.
- Assist in designing and implementing re-entry and pre-departure orientation sessions.
- Advise interested students on international opportunities.
- Serve as a positive role model, by being knowledgeable and compassionate of cultural differences.
- Assist in promoting international student get-togethers at the International House.
- Meet with supervisor on a regular basis and other senior staff as needed.
- Collaborate with other offices on campus to expand programming.
- Update website.
- Maintain binders and evaluate events by writing short summaries.
- Graduate Students will teach both in and out of the classroom.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work approximately twelve hours in the Explorations/Study Abroad Center per week.
