Being a member of a fraternity or sorority provides numerous opportunities for leadership development. Members not only have the opportunity to serve as officers and chairpersons both within their own chapters, but also can become leaders for the entire fraternity and sorority community through the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, GAMMA, and Order or Omega. You will also find Greek students in leadership positions in many campus organizations and activities!
In addition, the Greek Life Office provides several other leadership opportunities each year. These include:
Greek 101: New Member Workshop
During the fall semester, the Greek Life Office sponsors Greek 101: New Member Workshop for newly pledged members. This is required for all new members of the fraternity and sorority community and is a chance for them to learn more about what the Greek community has to offer, as well as an opportunity to meet new members from other chapters.

Greek Leadership Institute (GLI)
The Greek Leadership Institute is for emerging leaders in the fraternity and sorority community, and is a two-day retreat that focuses on values-based education. Fraternity and sorority members not only have the opportunity to attend GLI as a participant, but may return in future years as a GLI Facilitator.

New Officer Leadership Retreat
The New Officer Leadership Retreat for incoming chapter and council leaders. It provides an opportunity for new leaders to develop a vision for their chapter or council, as well provides opportunities to network with leaders from other chapters on campus.

Regional and National Conferences
Each year the Greek Life Office (with support from Student Senate) sends students to various regional and national leadership conferences, including the Mid-American Greek Council Association and the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute. At these conferences, B-W fraternity and sorority leaders have the opportunity to interact and network with other Greeks from around the country.
