Ven Ochaya Named Director of MBA Entrepreneurship Program

Ven O. Ochaya, Ph.D, of Mentor, has been named as the Director of the MBA Entrepreneurship Program and Associate Professor in the Division of Business Administration at Baldwin-Wallace College.  He also assumes the George Herzog Chair in Free Enterprise.  

As part of his responsibilities, Ochaya will provide leadership to the MBA entrepreneurship program and work in close coordination with the College’s Center for Innovation and Growth.  In addition, he will develop and implement entrepreneurship programs that provide academic value, contribute to economic development and promote experiential learning opportunities for students to work hand-in-hand with faculty and entrepreneurs.
 
Prior to being named to this position, Ochaya spent 17 years as a visionary leader in Fortune 500 companies ranging from $5 billion to $30 billion in revenue.   His latest position before coming to B-W was at Avery Dennison, where he started as Director of Product Technology and Innovation before being promoted to Vice President of Research & Development.  In addition, he spent 12 years at International Paper, where he held key positions before being named as Manager of Innovation for the Bleached Board Division of the Consumer Packaging Group.

Ochaya earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Edwards University (Austin, Texas), M.S. from the University of Texas (El Paso), Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and his M.B.A. from Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio).
