“We believe that Dr. Cunningham is an outstanding fit for Baldwin-Wallace College and are delighted that he will lead our strong and dynamic Business Division,” said Mary Lou Higgerson, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Beyond his impressive academic credentials, he brings a deep understanding of both the values that the liberal arts create in business education and the need to ensure that the education we provide remains relevant to what is happening in firms in our global economy."
Cunningham is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he also earned his Master of Business Administration degree and doctorate. His areas of focus included business logistics, quantitative business analysis and regional economics.
He taught at Penn State and Bucknell University before joining the faculty at the University of North Florida where he was tenured. He also has been a tenured member of the faculties at the University of Scranton and Iona College, where he achieved the rank of professor.
He was Director of the Master of Business Administration program at the University of Scranton from 1996 to 2002. At Scranton, he also was chair of the University Council (2001-02) as the university revamped its entire governance system, and Interim Dean of the school’s college for adult and non-traditional students. He also was Dean of the Hagan School of Business at Iona College and the founding Dean of the Division of Business at Champlain College.
Cunningham also has an impressive portfolio of consulting experience on a broad range of topics such as human resource planning, strategic planning, customer quality analysis, customer service, commodity flows, economic feasibility analysis, facility location, and transportation pricing.
"I am delighted to have been chosen as the new Chair of the Division of Business Administration at Baldwin Wallace and look forward to the opportunity to serve both the students and the faculty,” said Cunningham. It will be a privilege to work with such a dynamic faculty to build on the strong foundation which they have already laid."
