CLEP College-Level Examination Program

Baldwin-Wallace College is a national test center for CLEP.  All CLEP exams are administered on the computer.  Since policies regarding CLEP credits differ at various institutions, candidates should verify which tests are accepted by their institution.  Baldwin-Wallace College does not administer or require exams with essays.

CLEP exams cost $85 (a $15 Test Administration Fee, and a $70 CLEP exam fee).  The Test Administration Fee and registration form are due one week prior to an exam.  Please carefully read the registration information, fee section, and cancellation policy below.

CLEP exams offered through Baldwin-Wallace College are listed below.  If you are a B-W student, the chart indicates the corresponding course equivalent at B-W.  Visit this Web site for a complete list of available CLEP exams .

  • Scores are reported to the school(s) designated as the recipient in approximately 2-3 weeks.
  • GRADUATING SENIORS:  Tests should not be scheduled during the last semester before graduation due to the limited time for course validation and award of credit.
  • Baldwin-Wallace students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor before registering for a CLEP exam.
  • Examinees may complete the CLEP Sampler exercises from the CLEP Preparation Web page before taking their exam.  These exercises help examinees become familiar with how to take each computer-based CLEP exam.

CLEP Registration Form
(The PDF form requires the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader.)

Click the link above to access a printable copy of the registration form in PDF format.  A completed CLEP registration form must be submitted before an appointment can be arranged and confirmed.  Registration forms are due one week before the scheduled exam.

NOTE:  You must wait a minimum of six months to retake a CLEP exam.

CLEP Fees -

The $85 fee for each CLEP test must be made in two payments.  The first, the Test Administration Fee, is a nonrefundable, prepaid $15 check or money order made out to Baldwin-Wallace College, which should be sent in with your registration form.  The second, the exam fee, is a $70 credit card (preferred payment method), check or money order payable to College-Level Examination Program, which may be sent in with your registration (except credit card), or paid on the day of the test.  No cash is accepted for a CLEP test.

If you are registering for more than one CLEP test, you may increase your fees for Baldwin-Wallace College according to the number of tests you will be taking, and submit in one check or money order.  However, a separate $70 payment to College-Level Examination Program is required for each exam, even if you are taking multiple tests on the same day.  You may mail or drop off the required registration form to the Adult and Continuing Education office in the Bonds Administration Building, Room 102; however, the testing date will not be confirmed until the Baldwin-Wallace administration fee is received.
