B-W Senior "Profits" from Murder

Joe's blog

To some he is the mastermind of murders on campus, while to others he is a just another busy college student juggling coursework as well as a myriad of activities.

Senior Joe Levy, an English major and mathematics minor, has been involved in a litany of campus activities, among them:  resident assistant, student director of Mid-Night Madness, summer orientation leader, Community Outreach participant, College 101 course assistant, tour guide for the B-W Admission Office and more.

But once a year and without hesitation, Levy is willing to commit murder.  He does it just for fun and always for profit.  And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Levy, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, has been involved with a series of murder mysteries on campus.  With titles like Rumors and Rhymes and Avarice, the productions are popular among students.  Levy wrote the scripts and oversaw their production by a group of student volunteers.  The ticket proceeds benefited the College’s Mid-Night Madness program, a series of weekly non-alcoholic social activities held on Thursday nights.

An avid writer whose genres include poetry, fiction and essays, Levy wrote his first novel, a 30-page horror story titled “After Hours,” when he was in sixth grade.

Today, he combines his passion for suspense and drama with purpose and profit.  His murder mysteries are more than something done merely “after hours.”  They are creative and well written. And they represent just how easy it is to be a mastermind of murder, even if one is just play-ing around.
