2009 Captains Picked/ B-W Opens Play in Arizona

BEREA, OHIO — Baldwin-Wallace College Head Softball Coach Tom Spencer has announced its 2008-2009 team captains. They are senior first baseman Caitlin Myor (Sheffield Lake/ Elyria Senior), junior outfielder Monica Brasee (Wellington), junior third baseman Megan Coyne (Valley City/ LaGrange Keystone), junior transfer OF Mallory Kobak (Independence) and sophomore catcher/ OF Tanya Davis (Hinckley/ Medina Highland).

"We have five very strong leaders who are team and especially the younger players will look to for help and guidance," said Spencer. "Although five student-athletes are a lot to have as captains, the coaching staff feels that each young woman brings a different quality that in total gives us strong leadership."

The Yellow Jackets open the 2009 season on their annual spring break trip. This year, for the first time in many, many years, B-W will not go to Florida. This season, Spencer's team begins play at the Tucson (AZ) Invitational Games from March 8-12. In addition, B-W travels to Maryville (tenn.) for the Maryville College Invitational Tournament.
