BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College outdoor track and field team hosted the annual B-W Invitational at The George Finnie Stadium. This meet is regarded as one of the best collegiate track meets in the Midwest.
Highlighting the day for the men was senior Tim Budic (Eastlake North) who won the men's 3000 steeplechase with a time 9:06.46. Budic's time was .06 off of an NCAA automatic bid, however his time was good enough for an NCAA Division III qualifying time.
For the women, senior Jessica Textoris (Akron/ Medina Highland) finished second in the 5000 meter run in a time of 17:32.08 which was also an NCAA Division III national qualifying time. In addition, senior Lynn Katanik (Parma Padua) finished third in the 5000 meter run in 17:37.64 Both Textoris' and Katanik's times were also their career bests.The Yellow Jacket track teams will return to action next Saturday when they host the annual OAC Tri Black Meet at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. The meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
