Baldwin-Wallace College Freshman Punter Kevin Soflkiancs Named as a First-

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College freshman punter Kevin Soflkiancs (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark High School) has been named as a 2004 d3football.com internet web site first-team Division III All-American. Soflkiancs led all of Division III in punting.

The 2004 d3football.com Division III All-American team is selected by a committee of Division III football coaches, sportswriters and broadcasters and sports information directors who divided among the four regions of Division III. In addition to being named as a d3football.com first-team Division III All-American, Soflkaincs has also been tabbed as a first-team Football Gazette Division III All-American. He also was named as the Football Gazette North Region Special Teams Player of the Year and as a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and first-team All-North Region player.

Soflkiancs, a business administration major, led the OAC and Division III in punting with a 42.7-yard average in 55 attempts with 20 punts landing inside the opponent's 20-yard line. He was a two-time OAC Special Teams Player of the Week, a d3football.com internet web site "Team of the Week" pick and a Football Gazette Division III National Player of the Week. Soflkiancs set B-W records for punting average in a season (42.7 yards), in a game (a 52.0-yard average in six attempts against Otterbein College on October 9) and at The George Finnie Stadium (against Otterbein).

"We are pleased for Kevin," said third-year Head Coach John Snell. "Kevin had an outstanding season and is an asset to our program. He had a great year and we are looking forward to having him back with us for the next three years."

The Yellow Jackets finished the 2004 season with a 6-4 overall and 5-4 OAC record and had their 38th straight winning season. The seasona; winning streak is the second longest ion all of college football.
