Baldwin-Wallace College Senior Offensive Guard Joe Harbour Named as a First-

Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA

Harbour.jpgBEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior offensive guard Joe Harbour (Upper Sandusky) has been named as a first-team Academic All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The 6'2", 250-pound Harbour and the 10-2 Yellow Jackets ended their season last Saturday when they lost to Wheaton College, 16-12, in the second round of the NCAA Division III National Playoffs in Wheaton, Illinois.

Harbour is receiving CoSIDA Academic All-American honor for the second straight year as he was a second-team pick a year ago. He has also earned numerous academic accolades the past three years from both the OAC and CoSIDA. Harbour is a four-year varsity mainstay who played in 42 straight games.

After alternating as a starter and as a backup as a freshman in 2000, Harbour was a starter and key mainstay on the Yellow Jacket offensive line as a sophomore in 2001. He was an honorable mention Academic All-OAC and first-team Verizon Academic All-District IV pick that year. As a junior in 2002, Harbour played at guard and was a first-team Academic All-OAC, first-team Verizon Academic All-District IV and second-team Verizon Academic All-American pick. He helped to lead B-W to an 8-2 record and final No. 22-ranking in Division III.

Harbour_action.jpgAs a senior in 2003, Harbour earned a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American, first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District IV and unanimous first-team Academic All-OAC honors. He helped B-W compile a

10-2 record, reach the NCAA Division III National Playoffs for the first time since 1991, and the team was ranked as high as sixth nationally in Division III.

In addition to being an outstanding football player, Harbour is an excellent student who was a member of the Alpha Lambda Academic Honor Society and the Dean's List. He carries a 3.919 grade point average. He is also a member of the Athletes in Action.

Harbour is the son of Richard and Mary Alice Harbour of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

The Baldwin-Wallace College athletic program has a rich tradition of Academic All-Americans with 55 total student-athletes selected a total of 78 times since the program was initiated in 1970. In football, a total of 20 student-athletes have earned Academic All-America status since 1970, including five players eraning it twice, including Joe Harbour.
