BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior safety Jeff Fox (Willoughby South) has been named as this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last Saturday's 41-7 OAC win against Otterbein College in Westerville.
In the victory against Otterbein, Fox was credited with making nine tackles (four solo and five assisted) with two tackles for lost yardage and two interceptions. He returned one of his interceptions 23 yards to setup a Yellow Jacket touchdown. Fox's other pickoff stopped a Cardinal drive in the B-W "red zone".
For the season, Fox stands fourth on the team in tackles with 63, including 37 solo tackles, for the 9-1 overall and 8-1 Yellow Jackets. He also leads the team with three interceptions. In his career, Fox has 124 career tackles with five interceptions and 12 total pass breakups.
In addition, last week, Fox, who carries a 3.69 grade average in education and mathematics, was selected as a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-District IV player.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this Saturday, November 22, when they host Hanover College of Indiana in a first round NCAA Division III Playoff Game at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea at 12:00 noon. The winner of the B-W versus Hanover game will play the winner of the Wheaton (Ill.) College and Hope (Mich.) College game on Saturday, November 29 at a campus site to be determined.
