BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College football team moved up two spots, from 10th to eighth, in this week's d3football.com Division III national poll which is released on Sunday evenings. To view the entire poll. please click here.
The Yellow Jackets, 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the rugged Ohio Athletic Conference, are coming off an impressive, 36-0, victory against OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University on Homecoming at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea.
Senior All-OAC and All-North Region running back Mark Anders (North Olmsted) led the offensive assault by rushing for a game-high 118 yards in 19 attempts and tied both a Finnie Stadium and B-W single-game record with four rushing touchdowns.
Defensively, sophomore outside linebacker Justin Princehorn (Massillon Washington) led the way with eight tackles, a quarterback sack and an interception. Also, senior Academic All-OAC defensive end Nate Mitchell (Butler, Pa./ Butler) had five tackles, two sacks and caused two fumbles. Overall, B-W limited JCU to 31 rushing yards in 34 attempts, sacked two different quarterbacks eight times and intercepted four total passes.
This week, B-W returns to action when it travels to Ada to play Ohio Northern University at War Memorial Stadium at 1:30 p.m. Yellow Jacket fans can catch all of the action of that game on campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, with the pregame show beginning at approximately 1:15 p.m.
