Coaching Staff as an Assistant
BEREA, OHIO -- Ronald Cosby, Jr. has joined the Baldwin-Wallace College athletic program in 2005-2006 as an Assistant Football Coach.
"We are pleased to have Ron Cosby join our staff," said fourth-year Head Coach John Snell, who has a 24-8 record and led B-W to the NCAA Division III National Playoffs in 2003. "Ron has extensive playing experience and a strong knowledge of the game of football, and we feel that he will be an outstanding teacher and coach. He has the expertise needed to make an impact at Baldwin-Wallace College. We are pleased that Ron is going to be a part of our football family."
Cosby comes to Baldwin-Wallace following a three-year stint as an assistant coach at his alma mater and fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member Wilmington College (2002-2004). Last fall, Cosby served as an assistant coach at Cincinnati Hughes High School (2004-2005).
Cosby has strong knowledge and experience on the football field both as a former player and currently as a coach.
Upon graduation from Wilmington in May of 2001, Cosby became an assistant at his alma mater and coached the wide receivers and assisted with the offensive scout team. He became the assistant defensive backfield coach in 2003. In addition to serving as an assistant at Wilmington, Cosby also assisted with kickoff and punt returners, weekly film breakdown sessions, scouting reports, and gameday and off-season recruiting.
During his athletic career, Cosby started for four years at Wilmington College as a wide receiver, earning second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and USA Football All-American accolades as a senior. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education.
A year ago at Cincinnati Hughes, Cosby coached the offensive backs and defensive backs and worked with the punt and kick return specialists.
At B-W, Cosby joins a Yellow Jacket football program that is among the most successful in Division III. B-W enters the 2005 season with the second longest seasonal winning streak in all of college football -- 38 years.
"The football program at Baldwin-Wallace College has a reputation that stretches across the nation in Division III athletics and I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of it," said Cosby. "
