Core Curriculum

B-W’s core curriculum provides students with a liberal arts education with both breadth and depth. Their path begins freshman year with English composition, mathematics, and a course called Liberal Arts and Sciences 150, which examines enduring questions through the perspective of intercultural communications. These courses establish the fundamental skills essential for success in subsequent academic work as well as in your personal and professional lives.

As upperclassmen, students continue to take courses in the core curriculum, all of which focus on skills that are critical in both personal and professional life: research, oral and written communication, problem solving, quantitative methods, understanding the social and ethical implications of the subject matter, and social interaction.
