Professional Development

Mastering new teaching techniques and communication tools in technology-enhanced learning environments is paramount for professional educators today.

B-W's MAEd in Educational Technology is designed for elementary, middle and high school teachers who want to bring the energy and innovation of technology into their classrooms.

The MAEd in Educational Technology draws on current theories of learning and development to understand the role of technology in learning and instruction.   Teachers will:

  • Master classroom management tools for grade books, seating charts, lesson plans and more.
  • Integrate new technologies into current lesson plans.
  • Engage their students in multimedia presentations and interactive lessons.
  • Explore the new classroom frontiers of Internet 2, video and audio streaming.
  • Discover the wealth of free Web resources available for teachers.

The program is 34 semester hours and allows a teacher to add the Educational Technology Endorsement to an existing teaching license.   Students enroll part-time and may complete the program in as little as two years.  Classes are scheduled in the early evening during the school year and during the day in the summer.  MAEd candidates must take a comprehensive exam and complete an Educational Technology capstone project prior to graduation.

Educational Technology may be selected as part of the License+Master's Program.  License+Master’s students should plan additional time to complete their program due to undergraduate course and clinical requirements.
