Contributing, Compassionate and Competent
Today’s educators must be dynamic professionals committed to influencing student lives as well as achieving exemplary learning outcomes through innovative classroom practices and proven, effective teaching methods.
Strong Academics
Rigorous and career-focused, our baccalaureate programs of study combine the strengths of a Baldwin-Wallace liberal arts foundation with professional education coursework. You’ll gain the knowledge, skills, technical competencies and perspectives to prepare you for today’s diverse and complex educational environment.
Real-World Field Experiences
We’ll have you in the classroom doing observations and classroom assistance within the first three courses in education. Before you graduate, you’ll have over 300 hours of instructional experience in urban, suburban and rural education settings to prepare you for your first and subsequent teaching positions.
Professional
Small classes, personalized attention and high standards are at the forefront of our program. You’ll not only learn effective teaching practices, but also see them modeled in classes by faculty members with a wealth of teaching experience.
PartnershipsFrom established relationships like Edgehill College in England to new opportunities in North Carolina, our education partnerships offer impressive benefits. Through Edgehill, you have the option to complete your student teaching abroad in Ormskirk, outside of Manchester. Through our North Carolina partnership, you can be a sponsored student teacher who not only gains valuable experience, but who is in demand for teacher openings. In addition, Baldwin-Wallace College has partnered with more than 40 area school districts through the B-W School Partnership Program encouraging area teachers to earn their master's degrees and strengthen professional credentials through Baldwin-Wallace College.
Successful
Our outstanding reputation in teacher preparation gives you an edge. Our graduates meet a rigorous set of standards on their way to licensure eligibility. As a result, they meet and most often exceed the Praxis II and III test requirements set by the State of Ohio.
Accredited
B-W is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Division of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and its licensure programs are approved by the State of Ohio Department of Education.
