Agile methods have grown in application in many leading organizations.  This has raised a discussion as to the compatibility of agile and plan-driven project management methodologies.  The PM Advanced Forum will begin with Tobias Mayer of AgileThinking discussing the principles and practices of Scrum, including roles, artifacts, meeting and flow.  Tobias initiated the Scrum adoption at Yahoo! in 2004 and has since worked at a number of companies as a freelance trainer and consultant, including Verisign, Business Week, Commission Junction and eBay.  Following the overview, engage in a panel discussion with practicing PMPs who have integrated traditional project management methodology with agile development.

Tobias Mayer,
President, Agile Thinking, CST
Tobias Mayer is a coach, consultant, and trainer for organizations making the transition to more agile, trustful and team-centered ways of working.  His current core focus is on the Scrum process.  Tobias is from London, UK, and currently resides in Palo Alto, California, USA. His background includes software development, graphic design, theatre arts and community work.

Tom Seffernick, Project Coaching Leader, Software Development Support Center, KeyBank
CSM, PMP
Tom has been at KeyBank for 17 years with responsibilities that include technology project portfolio management, project management methodology development, and assessment of project productivity and data quality.  Currently Tom leads the Project Coaching team which is part of the Software Development Support Center.  In this capacity he is the change agent, Agile/Scrum Coach, and thought leader for Key's Agile Software Development initiative.  Prior to working at Key, Tom was a developer at Dinner Bell Foods and EDS.

Neil R. Pitt, Federal Express, Senior Mgr, Application Development at FedEx Custom Critical
PMP
Neil is an experienced IT manager with FedEx Custom Critical.  During the past six years he has championed the implementation of Agile Software Development Methodology across the enterprise at both FedEx and Progressive Insurance.  This includes the development of Agile immersion training as well as hands on leadership of key business projects. 
Neil has experience managing geographically dispersed teams and has been instrumental in introducing large scale change  and technology upgrades. Neil's IT and project management experience spans a variety of industries including transportation, financial services, telecommunications and retail (FedEx, Progressive, Alltel, Lowe's).
