International Exposure
In today’s global society, it is more important than ever to learn from others. At B-W, we embrace this perspective in everything we do – from admitting a diverse student body to encouraging our students to study abroad or participate in international business tours. In 1983, we introduced Ohio’s first International MBA program.
As part of our program, we offer international business seminars that give students the opportunity to observe companies in other countries and see diverse approaches to operations and management. A recent seminar program gave students the opportunity to tour South America’s largest seaport located in Santos. Even more impressive, their guide was B-W alum Thames Silva, who uses his International MBA training daily as he leads the port’s operations. Silva gave students insights into global business practices that no textbook could communicate so clearly.
Leading the tour were B-W Professor Pierre David, who recently authored a book on global logistics titled “International Logistics”, and Mac Watson, director of B-W’s International MBA program and an expert in intercultural communications.
