Dr. Cunningham earned his doctorate from The Pennsylvania State University where he also earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees. His areas of focus included business logistics, quantitative business analysis and regional economics.
While in graduate school he taught at Penn State and Bucknell University. He has been a tenured faculty member at the University of North Florida, the University of Scranton and Iona College, where he achieved the rank of professor.
His administrative experience includes six years as the Director of the Master of Business Administration program at the University of Scranton (1996 to 2002). At Scranton he was Chair of the University Council as the university revamped its entire governance system. He also served as the Interim Dean of Dexter Hanley College, Scranton’s college for adult and non-traditional students. He served as Dean of the Hagan School of Business at Iona College before becoming the Founding Dean of the Division of Business at Champlain College.
Cunningham has consulted on a broad range of topics such as human resource planning, strategic planning, customer quality analysis, customer service, commodity flows, economic feasibility analysis, facility location, and transportation pricing.
Cunningham is married, with two adult daughters. He is a swimmer, avid scuba diver, and novice golfer and enjoys watching college football.
