Programsbpclinic_bstud.jpg
Prepare for the workplace with an education that emphasizes both theory and practical application. Participate in programs that develop skills and knowledge that you can put to work after graduation.

  • The Business Clinic, trains students in business planning, client service, and research skills. Students are guided by successful entrepreneurs-in-residence. Since the Clinic was launched in 2002 more than 100 business plans have been reviewed
  • The Tax Clinic  gives our Accounting students real life experience and the opportunity to earn academic credit preparing tax returns.  Each year the Tax Clinic is opened to the public offering free tax preparation.

Internship Opportunities

career_expo.jpgEvery year, B-W business students complete more than 600 internships and 500 business related community service projects.  Many are in northeast Ohio, although students are placed throughout the country.  Visit our Career Services site for more information on available internships.

Opportunities Abroad

Every year over 50 business majors study abroad for a semester at a foreign university: England, Australia, China, etc. Many work with the Explorations/Study Abroad Office to develop their plans. Our Seminars in Brazil and South Africa offer opportunities to examine logistical, manufacturing, service, retail, and government issues abroad.

Partnerships and Access to Corporate Leaders
At B-W, we have created opportunities for you to get know and interact with corporate leaders.

  • Business Advisory Council brings into play active partnerships with some of the region’s most successful companies.
  • Greater Cleveland's Council of Small Enterprises (COSE), the largest organization of its kind in the United States, selected B-W's Business Clinic to support its own annual Business Plan Competition.
  • The Cleveland Foundation's Civic Innovation Lab directs applicants to B-W's Business Clinic to create a business plan prior to the submission of proposals for formal review.  In 2004, we formed alliances with area banks such as Fifth Third, National City Bank and Westfield Bank to create a regular flow of business plans.
  • Partnership with Glengary LLC, a locally-based venture catalyst enterprise, provides B-W students an opportunity to attend actual operating partner meetings, participate in internships and network with executive leaders.
  • Corporate Roundtables  are international small interactive group sessions with local corporate leaders discussing current business topics. Previous sessions have included Bob King of Fifth Third Bank, Michael Feuer, formerly of Office Max, and Alice Korngold, of Volunteers Unlimited.

Co-curricular Student Organizations
Student groups present opportunities to hone skills, work as a team, and gain access to unique learning experiences led by a faculty advisor.
