Summary
Sponsored by B-W’s Division of Business Administration and hosted by our Brazilian partner institution, Faculdade Católica de Administração & Economía (FAE Business School), in Curitiba, Brazil, this fifth Brazilian Management Seminar will visit business, government, cultural and tourist sites in the south of Brazil. Seminar participants will meet with government officials, with representatives of major commercial sectors, with business faculty/administrators and with B-W MBA alumni living and working in Brazil. Topics will include marketing, import-export, finance, government relations, and the cultural dimensions of doing business internationally. The seminar will include a particular emphasis on International Logistics Management, including a site visit to the Port at Paranaguá.
Travel cost: US$4460 double occupancy. ($630 single supplement)
Includes:
· Roundtrip airfare from Cleveland-São Paulo-Curitiba; Curitiba-Iguaçu Falls; Iguaçu Falls-Rio de Janeiro-Cleveland.
· Train/tour from Curitiba through the Atlantic rainforest of Paraná
· Technical visit to the Port of Paranaguá, Paraná.
· City tour of Rio de Janeiro
· All hotel accommodations. Buffet breakfast daily.
· Most meals, including special tour lunches and farewell banquet.
· Airport transfers and local ground transportation and transfers to business site visits
· B-W alumni reception in Curitiba

Itinerary
Days 1-2: Cleveland/São Paulo/Curitiba
Days 3-8 Curitiba and Paraná One of Brazil’s model urban success stories; capital of Paraná (Ohio’s sister state in Brazil).
--Presentations and seminar discussions at FAE.
--Site visits to manufacturing and service facilities, including Curitiba’s state of the art plants (e.g. Audi, Volvo, Boticário or Siemens); municipal government and planning offices; interviews with B-W/FAE alumni, business and community leaders.
--Atlantic rainforest and colonial town of Morretes. Classic train journey through rain forest to colonial Morretes, now a picturesque resort town.
--Technical visit to the Port at Paranaguá
Days 9-10: Iguaçu Falls and Itaipu Dam. Spectacular Iguaçu Falls and tropical bird and animal sanctuary. Visit bi-national Itaipu Dam on the Paraguay border, one of the largest hydroelectric projects in the world.
Days 10-12: Depart Iguaçu Falls for Rio de Janeiro and two nights stay in Rio.
Days 13-14: Depart Rio for Cleveland.
Space reservation
Seminar is designed for eighteen participants plus two seminar leaders. Program alumni and friends of the program are welcome to apply.
Confirmation of space reservation will be made for the first eighteen participants making deposits beginning 19 Sep 2008

In its twenty-second year of sponsoring management seminars abroad, B-W’s Division of Business Administration offers its fifth China Management Seminar. Participants are scheduled to visit business, government, cultural and tourist sites in four cities: Beijing, Xi’an, Ningbo and Shanghai and will meet with government officials, with representatives of all major commercial sectors, with business faculty/administrators and with B-W MBA alumni living and working in China.
Topics to be emphasized will include import-export, finance, government relations and the political and cultural dimensions of doing business internationally.
Travel cost: US $4,800 double occupancy (est.; final cost confirmed 15 Jan 10)

· Coach class airfare and all air taxes
· All airport transfers including bus, guide and porterage of 1 bag per person
· Buses, drivers and guides for all business meetings and sightseeing in each city
