Award Recipients

Strosacker Award for Excellence in Teaching

R. Christopher Stanton

Calvin A. Smith Botany Prize - Established in 1998 to recognize Dr. Calvin A. Smith's service as a dedicated teacher and advisor from 1963-1998. The prize is awarded at the Honors Day Convocation to a biology major who has shown exceptional interest and accomplishment in plant science.   For 2006, the award is given to Cory Ellison.

John W. Miller Zoology prize - Established in 2001 to recognize Dr. John W. Miller's service as a dedicated teacher and advisor from 1963-2000. This prize is to be awarded annually at the Honors Day Convocation to the outstanding zoology student.    

The Edward C. & Diane White Scholarship is an endowed fund that supports two separate awards, one of which is offered to outstanding students who will be attending medical school.   For 2006, the award is given to Michael Finamore.

Stephen D. Hilliard Fund for Student Independent Research - Established in 2004 to recognize Dr. Stephen D. Hilliard's service as a dedicated teacher and advisor from 1973-2004.  This fund was created to foster independent research by Biology majors at Baldwin-Wallace College.
